Edition 2022

The National Archaeological Museum of Volcei attracted numerous visitors during the 2022 event.
In addition to the museum tour, the following exhibitions were also available:
- "Luci su Volcei" by Mariangela Sacco, in which the artist imagined ancient Volcei bathed in light and color;
- "Le Corde dell'Anima" which brings together several paintings by the disabled artist Francesco Canale, a synthesis of more than twenty years of the artist's work;
- and "Dal fuoco l'Arte. Il canto della Fenice" by the Eboli-born sculptor Pasquale Ciao.
A perfect blend of art, culture, and music.
During this 12th edition the "Michele Di Martino Trio" featuring Marina Elizabeth Caputo and Leïla Duclos & Max Barrella, "Django Moods" Trio, performed.
The "Michele Di Martino Trio" , composed of Michele Di Martino on piano, Tommaso Scannapieco on double bass, and Franco Gregorio on drums, is a very close-knit group with great interplay, yet still possessing a strong mainstream focus; they unfold through the captivating notes of traditional jazz, with forays into bossa and Latin genres, aided by the unmistakable voice of Marina Elizabeth Caputo.
Leila Duclos is one of the emerging talents on the Parisian music scene, one of the capitals of European jazz. Max Barrella, a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer with extensive international experience, hails from the Salerno school, recognized for many years as one of the finest expressions of Italian jazz.

The 11th edition was a great success. Enhancing the evening of August 11th was the music of "Marco de Tilla 4et," featuring Virginia Sorrentino, a versatile singer with a resume that spans jazz, soul, and pop, accompanied by the eclectic pianist Francesco Marzani, Marco de Tilla on double bass, and the multifaceted Stefano Tatafiore on drums.
On August 12th, "Club Manouche," a group inspired by manouche or "gypsy jazz," performed. Their repertoire includes not only traditional manouche pieces but also Italian and international pieces, both modern and retro, rearranged in this fresh yet refined style.
Influences of swing, bossa nova, and pop make this band absolutely unique. A blend of past and present, sealed by a dreamy sound.

Despite the difficulties and restrictions associated with the health emergency, the Pro Loco, in collaboration with the Museo archeologico nazionale di Volcei , organized the 2020 event, albeit in a different way.
The guest of the tenth edition of Volcei Wine Jazz was Luciano Macchia, with the "Luciano Macchia Quartet." An eclectic and imaginative musician, Luciano Macchia, after initially focusing on classical music, founded the jazz band Ottavo Richter and, at the same time, collaborated with various artists (including Vinicio Capossela, Afterhours, Calibro35, Banda Osiris, Dente, Antonio Di Bella, Nicolò Fabi, and Le Luci della Centrale Elettrica).
The young Elisa Campagna, a graduate in jazz singing from the Conservatory of Potenza and winner of first prize in the jazz singing category at the "Giovani Promesse" international competition in Bracigliano, also participated in the evening.

Wine, jazz music, art, history, and a unique location evoke the memory of the Roman "symposium," from which the Museum houses an important floor mosaic, the oldest in peninsular Italy, and the inscription of a "fisikos" a healer who used wine as a remedy for ailments.
Wine, then as now, is at the heart of society as a vehicle for socialization and interpersonal relationships. From ancient craters filled with the nectar of the Gods to glasses from the finest wineries, this original and engaging formula brings to life a captivating event.
The "Jazz'o quintet" performed on August 11th, the "Virginia Sorrentino Jazz Quartet" on the 12th, and the "Stefano Giuliano Jazz Trio" on August 13th.
Over the three evenings were exhibited the New Media Art light installations curated by Pasquale Saporito, and were presented "Augmented Reality" creations by students from Asteass High School in Buccino.
Furthermore, everyone was given the opportunity to become a singer of music, wine, and good living with Reading Around Midnight, which combined the ancient ritual of the symposium with the modern ritual of Reading, a sampling of literary passages and passages to the sound of glasses.
